About the Irish Tinker horses

Formerly the Tinker horses were the working horses of the gypsies. Typical for those gypsie-horses was their pinto colour, because higher social classes temporarily preferred horses in only one colour. Tinker horses are robust and easy keeping horses and are characterised by their even temper, intelligence, curiosity and occasional stubbornness. Aggressive behaviour is not tolerated within the breeding lines of Tinker horses. Due to their heavily built body it is difficult for them to be ridden in collection and thus the Irish Cob is less able to be used for show jumping or high class dressage. As therapy horses or reliable draught horse however they are perfect. Endurance in walking or trotting over long distanceses makes them perfekt trail riding horses. Their spirited extensive steps and a surprisingly good canter and jumping ability makes them an eyecatcher. The breeding aim is to gain horses to be used in every discipline – an all-round horse for every purpose.

About Quarter horses

The American Quarter Horse is an American breed of horse that excels at sprinting short distances. Its name came from its ability to outdistance other horse breeds in races of a quarter mile or less;  The American Quarter Horse is the most popular breed in the United States today.

The American Quarter Horse is well known both as a race horse and for its performance in rodeoshorse shows and as a workingranch horse. The compact body of the American Quarter Horse is well-suited to the intricate and speedy maneuvers required in reining, cutting, working cow horse, barrel racingcalf roping, and other western riding events, especially those involving live cattle. The American Quarter Horse is also shown in English disciplines, driving, and many other equestrian activities. (adapted from wikipedia)
